Season Auditions for NCP 2024-2025 Season

We are excited to announce auditions for our upcoming season! Whether you are a seasoned performer or new to the stage, we welcome actors of all backgrounds and experience levels to join us. This season is an exciting journey filled with diverse roles and captivating stories.

Audition date: August 25th Time: 9:00-3:00 p.m.

Xmas Show callbacks: August 27th| Spring Callbacks: August 26th, 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Location: Nose Creek Valley Museum: 1701 Main St S, Airdrie, AB T4B 1C5

Performance Dates: November 22-November 23

Tech Week: November 18- November 21

Rehearsal Days: Saturdays from 10:00-2:00 starting September 7th

The Secret Santa

Synopsis:

Nestled deep in the heart of the North Pole is a portal. A portal that no one knows about… until the day Jingles the Elf finds it: crossing into no man’s land, Jingles finds an entire cast of merry lookalikes, right down to another big man himself. We’re launched into the world of multi-universes, space and time travel as we watch Jingles trying to fix the mistake. Everything is safe as long as everyone stays in their proper universe... right?

On a Day Like This- A Cassette Carol

Synopsis:

When dealing with loss, something found helps put the music back into a family’s holiday season! Christmas is just around the corner, and Hope is tasked with packing up her father’s belongings after his sudden passing. Rather than packing, Hope’s daughter, Emma, tries to create some holiday spirit and, in doing so, stumbles upon an old box of cassettes. A box of old songs and memories that remind Hope of the value of traditions and connection and togetherness. They remind her of what Christmas is all about!

Character Breakdown

Hope: (Adult Actor) Female-identifying character. Mother of an older teenager. Hope is a single mother who loves her family ferociously. Hope is in the process of packing up her father's belongings. There will be some singing required.

Emma- (Youth Actor) Female-identifying character. Only child. Graduating and considering going away for college. Emma possesses a sharp wit. The role requires some singing.

Kieran- (Adult Actor) Male-identifying character. Father of a teenager. Kieran is a big proponent of traditions. Nothing he enjoys more than spending time with his daughter. Singing and simple guitar playing required.

Young Hope-(Late teen actor) Female-identifying character. Sarcastic and spunky teenager. Singing required.

The Epic Quest of the Damsels in Distress

*must be at least 17 years old to audition*

Synopsis:

Our story opens with Isadora, who doesn’t like seeming helpless after being abandoned in the forest by her father. She much prefers feeling solid and self-sufficient, especially once she pulls an ancient sword from a stone! Isadora soon meets Beatrice, a lady-in-waiting, who honestly finds life in the castle quite boring. Winifred joins the spirited pair next, having always lived alone in the forest, concocting potions and practicing spells. The trio is joined by the notorious Masked Maven, a young woman with many secrets.

Seeking excitement, the foursome journey on a comical adventure through a fairy-tale land of magic and monsters, royal fanfare and fairies, as they prove they can ably find their own way through the world, strong and independent. Along the way, they encounter angry villagers, arrogant princes, mischievous fairies, and even a dragon or two!
